Ms. Laine Virtue Harper was born and raised in Rogers, AR. She has been teaching dance locally for over 22 years, loving every minute of it. Laine began taking dance at the age of 7 and became a member of the Ballet Westside performing and competing company at 10. Laine participated in local performances of the Nutcracker Ballet for 9 years and has always had a passion for performing on the stage. In High School, she went to Disney World and danced with her studio for Magic Music Days. She was a sophomore member of the Varsity RHS Cheerleading Squad, and on the Dance Team as a junior and senior. She has worked with many wonderful instructors and choreographers while attending and hosting master classes, workshops and the Dance Teachers Summit in LA to continue her dance education. She recently began judging for Triumph National Talent.
Laine was the talent coordinator and choreographer for the 2016 and 2017 American Heart Association Heart Ball "Lip-sync Battle, the Heart of a Rockstar". All performances and staging are coordinated and brought to life by Harper and her team. In the summer of 2017, Kaleidoscope Dance Academy was hired by the Walmart Shareholders event planners to choreograph and perform at one of the shareholder meetings. Laine organized and choreographed this piece with 38 dancers in a one week time frame. In the fall of 2017, Universal Studios hired Laine and her team to manage the Universal and Dreamworks Trolls Booth and to choreograph and perform the opening and closing act on the main stage for Downtown Bentonville's First Friday Toyland event. The KDA dancers were hired to perform at Walmart Stores as part of Universal Studios Jurassic World 2 launch for Shareholders. The studio choreographed and performed a flashmob that recently has gone viral online with over 2.6 million views.
In 2015, Laine began a program, Dancers with Heart, to offer free dance classes for all foster children or dancers with special needs. Her philosophy is everyone can dance and these programs enable all to enjoy.
Ms. Laine would like to thank Ms. Dorothy Taylor for instilling strong work ethic and a passion for dance into her heart. Laine was proud to open Kaleidoscope Dance Academy in 2007 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She is honored to run a dance studio with so many wonderful teachers, students and families. When not dancing, Laine is enjoys freelance graphic design, fine art and spending time with her family. She has a degree from the University of Arkansas in Advertising/PR and a minor in Fine Art, Marketing and Graphic Design. The Harpers participate in many non-profit organizations such as the American Heart Association, Arkansas Support Network, Arkansas Children's Hospital and more. Laine lives in Bentonville with her loving husband Richard and their three redheads, Leighton, Shea and Griffin. As a family they love to sail at the Beaver Lake Sailing Club.
