Kristina Morrison began her classical ballet training at Theater School of Dance in Shreveport, LA - the official school of the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet under the direction of Marion Mills. After becoming a company member, she preformed in ballets such as Firebird, Giselle, Cinderella and the Nutcracker. She also danced for several years with the Dallas, TX based company, Pieces, under the direction of Davis Hobdy, performing original ballet and modern works, both locally and on tour. While in Dallas, she studied dance, mainly ballet, at Brookhaven College. Having also lived a short time in Los Angeles and New Orleans, she was fortunate to study Russian Ballet at both the New Orleans School of Ballet and the Yuri Guigoriev School of Ballet.
After studying the four methods of classical ballet as a student, she chose to pursue her teacher training in the Cecchetti method. She has been a teaching member of the Cecchetti Council of America for 14 years. She has had the privilege of hosting a Cecchetti seminar in NWA, where teachers and students from MO, AR and TX were in attendance. She has been a guest teacher at several seminars in Texas as well as a scholarship adjudicator for the Cecchetti Southwest Committee. She actively continues her teacher training, attending workshops and regularly working with her personal coaches in TX and MO.
She has lived in the NWA area for 15 years, has taught at several local studios and had the wonderful opportunity to direct a full length Nutcracker in 2006. She is thrilled to currently call KDA home and to continue to develop a strong ballet program.
She is the owner of The Red Shoe Dancewear Boutique in Bentonville, through which she has received extensive training in fitting and working in pointe shoes. In her spare time, she trains and competes in Dressage with her Friesian Sporthorse, Thor. She lives in Rogers with her 8 year old son Bradley, her wonderfully supportive husband Brad, and their doodle dog Marley.
