Barbara Jean Wissing studied dance in Iowa with Jean Graves-Lefler and Jim Christianson at Sioux City School of Music and Dance. She began her teaching career in 1985, having taught in Minnesota, Iowa and currently in North West Arkansas. Barbara Jean has attended many Dance Olympus Summer and Winter Workshops and also Music Works conventions.Her dancers have competed in Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska.

Barbara Jean has choreographed for Show Choirs and Musical Theater in Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. She worked with The Happy Hoofers, a group of Senior tap dancers in Sioux City Iowa. They were invited to perform at many half-time sporting events.This group of lovely ladies taught her a valuable lesson, never stop dancing!

Barbara Jean feels truly blessed to pass her passion for the creative arts to her students at Kaleidoscope! She moved to NWA and loves living here, with her husband Tom, two cats and a dog. They have a grown daughter, Sarah who resides in Arizona. Barbara Jean loves performing in musical theater, likes to read, and enjoys trips back to Iowa now and then to visit family.
